I remember a time when I was working fifteen hours a day to complete a project. It was gratifying but very stressful! Going to bed and getting up I felt tired and cranky, and my neck was stiff from being so tensed. I couldn’t believe how many different ways the stress was affecting me.
Since then I have learned a few tricks along the way to help keep my stress in check when things get tough. It’s a proven fact that stress can wreak havoc on both your mind and your body. I always knew that it could make you anxious and cause problems with your sleep, but only learned later that it also causes physical symptoms and can even, if prolonged, lead to serious medical conditions. Did you know that stress has been linked to heart attacks and cancer??
Hot Bubble Bath with Epsom Salt
One of my go-to methods for dealing with stress and treat anxiety is a long hot bubble bath. It may not seem like much but it really can work wonders! A warm bath calms and soothes your nerves and can be very relaxing. Add Epsom salt to your warm bath and your stiff and aching muscles almost immediately begin to feel better. That’s thanks to the way the magnesium sulfate in the Epsom Salt reduces inflammation and relaxes tensed muscles. It also helps to draw toxins from the body. A bonus is that you can get them for next to nothing at all drugstores.
Island Essence Bath Salts
